Virtual Run for the Zoo
May 2-9, 2021

Run for the Zoo is roaring back in 2021 with our second virtual event! You helped us raise over $100,000 last year to further our mission of “making the exceptional possible at the ABQ BioPark.” This year, our goal is to raise $125,000, and you can help us by registering for one of our races, including our brand-new Virtual Marathon!

Join us for Virtual Run for the Zoo, May 2-9, 2021, from anywhere at any time. Register for the 1 Mile, 5K, 10K, Half Marathon or Full Marathon. Walk, run, bike, or skate! Indoors or outdoors, your race is your choice! This year, we have added downloadable bibs and finisher certificates, as well as optional medals!

While we regret not being able to run with you in person again this year, we’re encouraged and excited that your love for Run for the Zoo extends across the globe! Just like the lion, whose roar is a symbol of strength, your support is our strength, and you are part of our Pride.

Together, we will “Roar On” and create a future that is safe and strong.

How does Virtual Run for the Zoo work?

Virtual Run for the Zoo can be completed anytime during the week of May 2-9. As you run or walk, outside or on a treadmill, please keep your safety and the safety of others in mind and observe all social distancing guidelines. Virtual Run for the Zoo is great for all ages because you can run the race, at your own pace!

Whatever your distance, we will “Roar On” into a better 2021 together!

Why should I sign up?

Run for the Zoo is not only one of the New Mexico BioPark Society’s major fundraisers each year, it is also a beloved community event that attracts thousands of runners annually. The global health crisis has made fundraising more challenging than ever, but our commitment to the ABQ BioPark has never wavered.

Signing up for Virtual Run for the Zoo is a great way to financially support YOUR BioPark in a safe and socially distant way!

How much does it cost?

Virtual Run for the Zoo is only $10 for the race, with optional add-ons available. Donations are accepted and appreciated, but not necessary.

How do I track my time/pace?

Use any GPS, Bluetooth device, or running/walking app to track your results, or take a photo of your treadmill screen!

Can I run from another state or country?
